Last week in Followsound 2022.52

This week was just a blur of seeing family, friends, and food!

I don’t think I ate more this week than the week of Christmas (last week), but it was all eating out, so it made it feel indulgent. All the Grandchildren took my Grandmother out for lunch, a highlight for me, not only as I had spent a whole day trying to get everyone in the same place. She is declining mentally, so it was a joy to spend precious time together.

D and I headed off to Manchester for our New Year celebrations. We barely spent time in our country place, as we were with family, so the tree came down as quickly as it had gone up. We’re going to assess the viability of a tree next year, mainly to have an eye on our environmental impact.

New Year was a wonderful time out, as we had some friends staying with us for the first time, plus the first use of the newly decorated (by D, of course) spare room. It was touch-and-go if we could make it out for NY, as D and I had both had sickness this week. However, we managed to get it together just in time! The boys loved their first experience of Manchester, and we hope to be able to invite them up many times in the future. We’re already planning something in March, so that is something to look forward to.

Now the year has ticked over, all I have to do is recover from the celebrations before starting my new role.

In summary:

  • LOTS of RICH food;
  • Good times with family;
  • Hosted good friends in our new room;
  • Celebrated the turning of time.
